<abstract>
Background and Objective: The present systematic review study, as a systematic review of the performed studies, pursued the goal to investigate the role of mental and social health skills on patients’ optimism.
Materials & Methods: All clinical and non-clinical trial studies published in ISC, Scopus, PubMed, and national databases from 2010 to 2024 were searched. The studies published in Persian or English and available in full text were included in the study.
Results: Overall, 22 studies were included in the final analysis. According to the results, a positive significant correlation was found between mental and social health skills and patients’ optimism. In particular, communication skills, problem-solving, and social support were more strongly associated with optimism.
Conclusion: Mental and social health can help boost patients’ optimism. These findings emphasize the importance of psychological interventions in enhancing patients’ quality of life (QoL). However, some limitations, including the diversity of measurement tools and study populations, lead us to be cautious about generalizing the results.
